Getting Close

I am plugging along and averaging a little over 60 miles a week on the trek home. The weather, being tired, job responsibilities and my back have been a few hampers on the trek back. However, Wooster is in my sight. It looks like it will take 15 weeks to get back; where it did 11 weeks to get there. Here are the numbers from the last two weeks:

Week 13 – 71 miles
Week 14 – 61 miles

I am in Fargo, Oh. Have you ever heard of it? I had not did I google mapped where I would be. Here is the map from last week:

I am 65 miles from home. On a normal week, I should be able to do it and definitely push my self at the end because of wanting to complete it. However, we will see. Late Thursday night, I thre my back out and I have been resting/icing it on Friday and Saturday and limiting my walking. You can tell by my numbers last week:

Sunday – 22,198
Monday – 28,134
Tuesday – 23,244
Wednesday – 28,111
Thursday – 16,131
Friday – 4,107
Saturday – 3,942

Total = 125,849 ………. 61 miles

If my back is healthy, I will get there. Even if I have a bad Monday - Thursday, I will catch myself up; we will see.

Thanks for following and thanks for the support.

Into Kentucky ...

I am halfway through Kentucky. Last week, I was down in New Orleans for a convention and due to walking at the convention, nicer weather and seeing the city, the miles went back up. Of course, this past week being back in Wooster, the miles went back down. I should be done in 3-4 weeks, we will see. I am not going to push myself to the finish line; it seems like it will be a crawl. Here is the map from the way back:

Here are the totals for the journey the last two weeks:

Week 9 - 82 miles
Week 10 - 64 miles

It Has Been Forever .....

It has been a long time since I have posted and for that I apologize. My current location is Falkville, Alabama. Thus, I have walked approx. 1400 miles. I have about 600 miles left to go. Here is the map of my walk from New Orleans to Falkville:

My trip back is going a lot slower than my trip down there. There are two main reasons: the weather and my schedule. The weather is the one that is really getting me though. Here are my weekly totals for the trip back:

Week 1 – 72 miles
Week 2 – 65 miles
Week 3 – 72 miles
Week 4 – 62 miles
Week 5 – 55 miles
Week 6 – 63 miles

Now, some individuals believe that tose are still good totals and overall, I guess that they are. However, compare the 6 weeks back to the first 6 weeks down there:

Week 1 – 107 miles
Week 2 – 105 miles
Week 3 – 108 miles
Week 4 – 77 miles
Week 5 – 100 miles
Week 6 – 80 miles

I should still be on target for my original finish date which was end of February. Once again, thank-you to all the adults who supported the walk and made this trip possible.

Slowly Getting There

I am plugging along. I am not moving as fast as I was hoping for but I am getting to the goal. I have to admit two things:

- I like to walk more outdoors then indoors
- I like walking in warm weather over cold weather

Anyways, here were the totals for last week that finished last night:

Sunday – 20,711
Monday – 22,916
Tuesday – 24,264
Wednesday – 28,731
Thursday – 18,434
Friday – 17,114
Saturday – 15,644

Total = 147,814 ………. 72 miles

Here is where I "walked" last week:

Here is my walk back "update":
